Feeling a little lonely?

We have a new video devotional ready. It’s about how to deal with a few different types of loneliness, using Psalm 25:16-18. You can watch it here.

Let’s worship together!

This video devotional was posted on Saturday in Facebook — but I forgot to post it on our website! It’s about why we need to worship together. Now you can watch it here.

We’d like your opinion, please

Things have changed dramatically for our church family in the last 6 weeks. In response, the church leadership–and particularly the worship and communications teams–have been offering many more things online than we used to. We believe these options have been improving as we learn, but we need your help to do even better.

Would you take a few minutes (probably less than 10) to fill out our anonymous online survey? We don’t have any way of tracking who you are–unless you tell us!–so we hope you will be completely open.

You can find the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P82Z7MC

We are grateful for your help!

Pastor Dr. Wayne Cook shares a time when he failed to fully trust in the Lord and speaks from his heart about living Proverbs 3:5-6.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Is the effort of discipleship worth it?

Life is difficult. Isn’t making the effort to be better disciples just adding an unfair burden? Why make things harder? Watch our video here to learn that every downside still has its reward.

How to Study the Bible

Building your relationship with God takes effort—and one of the best places to put that effort is in Bible study. That’s what we discuss in today’s video.

The website I mention in the video is http://www.litchapala.org/bible-study/

Do you seek God?

Join Dr. Wayne Cook for his devotional on Psalm 14:1
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.”

How can we grow closer to God through this quarantine?

Our Tuesday video offers some suggestions about the Christian discipline of solitude . . . something we’re experiencing so much of right now. Take a look here.

Thoughts about prayer

Today’s devotional is about “practicing the presence of God,” a way of prayer that includes God in every minute of your life. The books referred to include:

The Practice of the Presence of God, by Brother Lawrence
With Christ in the School of Prayer, by Andrew Murray
A Short and Very Easy Method of Prayer, by Madame Guyon
