Lakeside Presbyterian Church is a young church, full of active members, where you can be sure to find a place to use your gifts and abilities.
Our church exists to fulfill five purposes. These purposes are all equally important, and the maturity and growth of our church depend on how well we fulfill these purposes in a balanced way.
Worship. We are made for relationship with God, and worship is how we fulfill God’s desire that we be in communion with Him – both corporately and through the encouragement of private times of prayer and devotion. Our English language congregation meets for worship at 9:30 AM each Sunday; while worship of the Spanish language congregation (Iglesia del Lago) is on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Fellowship. We are called together as the Body of Christ, and we are committed to our life together in fellowship, encouragement and enjoyment of one another. We truly enjoy each other’s company! Fellowship opportunities include monthly Men’s Breakfasts and Ladies Luncheons, and many special holiday fellowship gatherings – all with lots of great food!
Discipleship. God desires for all of us to grow deeper in our faith, to learn more of Scripture and God’s will for us, and to proceed towards Christian maturity, becoming more like Christ. Our dynamic and interactive Bible Study meets every Friday at 10:00 AM at the church, while the Women’s Open Prayer Circle meets at 10 AM on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.
We also have a thriving school – Lakeside Institute of Theology – where we learn more about the Bible and our lives as Christian believers.
Ministry Outreach. Just as Jesus occupied himself with meeting the physical, emotional and social needs of people He encountered, so we must provide a Christian humanitarian response to the needs of people in our church and our community. Our church seeks to help provide for the needs of people in our community, both through involvement with local charitable organizations, and through our own food pantry and outreach efforts.
Evangelism. God does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to a saving knowledge of Him, so our church will reach out to our community in every way possible, to share the Good News of the love and salvation available in Jesus Christ. We seek to share the love of God with others through everything we do, but specifically through our “2nd Sunday” events, when we make special efforts to invite friends and neighbors to a “seeker-friendly” church service, followed by a fellowship potluck lunch.
Remember that you have family at Lakeside – and we look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better!
