As our both of our congregations continue to grow and as our ministry expands, Lakeside Presbyterian Church is looking for a Pastor of Congregational Care to serve our English-language congregation.
While your primary role will be direct pastoral care, you will also be involved in the development and leadership of a lay pastoral care ministry, as well as newcomer welcome, involvement and participation.
Among other things, you will:
- Represent Christ by visiting, ministering to and praying for members and regular attenders when they are sick, hospitalized, homebound or bereaved.
- Recruit, train, deploy, oversee and energize a team of lay care ministry volunteers.
- Establish and maintain a visitation rotation — ensuring a pastor or church leader is available to congregation members when needed.
- Preach and teach occasionally.
This position requires an ordained, evangelical minister from a Reformed theological tradition, with a seminary degree in theology, Bible, counseling or related emphasis, and at least 5 years experience in a ministry leadership role. The right candidate must be a strong leader with experience in at least some of the following: support, recovery, counseling and reconciliation ministries; and in leading ministry teams.
To apply for this position, please send your resume and a cover letter to Cheryl Davis, Chair of the Pastor Search Committee at [email protected]
