Is Seeing In Your Future?

Volunteers In Action

Failing eyesight can be a terrible affliction. Having no money to pay for an eye exam or glasses is a fact of life for many in the Lake Chapala area. This was also seen as a ministry area that LPC Volunteers-In-Action could embrace.

Quality Low Cost Eyeglass Frames

Dr. Salvador provides free eye examination and free lenses at the medical office in Lakeside Presbyterian Church one Wednesday every month. Quality, low-priced frames are also available for only 200 pesos each, and if this cost is too high, Lakeside Presbyterian Church will help cover the cost. Seeing can be in your future.

This is an opportunity for everyone (not just church members). Recommend this opportunity to your friends, acquaintances, gardeners, cleaning staff and others. Ask them to take a free eye test.

Make an appointment either on the sign-up sheet at the medical office inside the church or by calling the church office any weekday morning at 376-106-0853. Walk-ins are also welcome, but a waiting time may be involved.

One Wednesday every month Dr. Salvador closes his practice in Ajijic, Hidalgo, number 6, so that he can volunteer his time and that of one of his assistants, so that the less privileged of our community have access to corrective glasses. LPC’s Volunteer-In-Action, parish nurse, Lynn Turnbull, will be available to answer any other health care questions.

Eye examination

On the following dates, Dr. Salvador will be at the Medical office, located in the Lakeside Presbyterian Church, Chapala building, San Jorge #250, Riberas del Pilar, just two blocks south of Mom’s Restaurant to provide eye testing:

    Wednesday, May 16, 2018

    Wednesday, June 13, 2018

    Wednesday, July 11, 2018

If corrective eyeglasses are required, they will be available for fitting and final adjustment by Dr. Salvador, on the Wednesday following the eye test.

Your Choice for Frames

Please follow our website www.lpcchapala.org/news/ over the next few weeks leading up to Pentecost. We will be highlighting some of the many outreach activities that our Volunteer-In-Action service teams are involved with. You will see our Volunteers-In-Action feeding the poor, providing clean drinking water where there was none, and clothing the homeless, here in the Mexican villages that surround us.

If you would like more information, please contact the Church Administrator 376-106-0853.
